Description
Bangor University has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
This degree is designed for graduates wishing to start, or further develop, careers in marketing. It explores the principles, theoretical concepts and practice of marketing within the context of business and management and will focus on developing academic and applied skills in Marketing including advertising, brand management and loyalty, customer service, public relations and market research.The programme will also develop students' knowledge and skills across a broader range of business and management subjects, including organisations, their management and the changing external environment in which they operate and develop students' ability to take a strategic overview of business and organisational issues.An important objective is to provide relevant analytical training in the latest strategic, managerial and industrial developments in Marketing both the public and private sectors. We look at marketing at local, national and global levels developing skills in strategic analysis, problem-solving and decision making.The programme will prepare students for a career in marketing or in business and management. Students may choose to undertake a dissertation in a business or marketing topic. The Bangor Business School has a Chartered Institute of Marketing student chapter which enables our students to become involved in real life issues and enjoy hands-on experience of Marketing.Graduates of this degree will be eligible for exemptions from some modules of the Chartered Institute of Marketing's professional qualifications. Entry requirements
A 2.2 Honours degree in a relevant subject, e.g. business, management, finance from a university, or a similar qualification from any other institution is required. Alternatively a suitable professional qualification and relevant practical experience may also be accepted. Applicants are judged on their individual merits and age, work experience and other factors are also considered. If the native language is not English, students require IELTS: overall score of 6.0 (with no element below 5.5.); Pearson PTE: a score of 56 (with no element lower than 51); Cambridge English Test advanced: 169 (with no element lower than 162).

About this university
International students
The International Student Support Office is the first place for international students to contact when studying in Bangor. They are available to provide help and advice in a range of areas including immigration and visas as well as bringing family members to Wales while studying. They are based in the Rathbone Building on College Road. They also organised English Language Preparation Courses for students to whom English isn’t a first language and range from general courses to pre-sessional and summer courses as well as those while students study. The website also provides information on a by-country basis to use before arriving in the country including entry requirements. The Student Union is responsible for the organisation of services and support for students outside the classroom and all students are automatically members. Included in the societies available to students are a number of volunteering opportunities including through Student Volunteering Bangor that has some 30 projects it is associated with as well as Bangor RAG. There are a total of 150 societies including academic and sports clubs with notable sports including the football and rowing clubs. Fun recreational sports such as canoe-polo and sub-aqua are also available for fitness fans. There are religious societies such as the Christian Union and the Islamic Society as well as hobbies and interest groups such as comedy, drama and photography. There is also a student run radio station called Storm FM. In addition, there is the Student Services department based in the Rathbone Building on College Road who are available to help with a wide range of issues such as financial assistance, careers advice and employment guidance.
