Canterbury Christ Church University has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
You will be able to choose from a range of modules taught by leading experts in their field, design your own short courses, receive training in research skills, run your own reading group, undertake work placements, and complete a dissertation. Optional modules include histories of horror and utopian thought in the West.Canterbury Christ Church University has a vibrant and supportive postgraduate community, where you will be able to participate in and present at workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Requirements
Entry requirements
A 2:2 honours degree in History or a relevant discipline is required. Holders of other qualifications will be considered individually. International students whose first language is not English require an IELTS overall score of 6 with a 6 in reading and writing. International students can also be accepted if they have completed an English-medium degree with a significant research element.

There are some 80 different countries represented at the university and a range of advice support and help on hand for them. The International Department provides a range of country specific information on the website to help with applications as well as funding and scholarships details. There is help from the International Student Support team who can offer non-academic advice in matters such as healthcare, housing, financial guidance as well as visas and immigration. There are also English language courses for those wishing to learn or better their skills in the language. Finally, there is assistance through Unitemps for those wishing to work between studies. There is a wealth of help and advice on hand for students at the university as well as extracurricular activities. There is a network of trained advisors to help with matters such as wellbeing advice, developing academic skills and even faith and religious matters. The university offers an Extra Award for students based around their activities outside the classroom and can be gained alongside degree studies. Opportunities include volunteering to help with the larger community as well as working in the Student’s Union. The union organise the various clubs and societies on offer ranging from interest groups such as the beach project and Harry Potter Society to culture groups such as the Asian Society. There are academic groups as well as sports and plenty of opportunities to try something new or even start your own society.
