The service is based within the Saltire Centre in the main campus area of the university. Student life outside the classroom centres around the Students Union, itself an independent charity that represents the students, provides support and advice and organises the extracurricular activities. All students are automatically members. There is also a free law clinic within the university that assists students with legal advice and assistance particularly in matters such as housing, employment and contract law.
