- You will have opportunities to learn with social workers, paramedics and students of medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, radiography and bio-medical science. This reflects the midwife's inter-professional working environment.
- This course includes anatomy with dissected cadaveric material (real bodies that have been generously donated). This unique learning opportunity makes up 10 per cent of first year teaching.

We are proud to be ranked number one in London for Nursing and Midwifery (Guardian University League Tables, 2021)This three-year postgraduate course has been designed for graduates who would like to gain the knowledge, skills and values necessary to register as midwives on the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) professional register. It is taught across the Kingston Hill and the St George's, University of London campuses.What will you study?Topics include maternal and neonatal physiology, professional, ethical and legal issues, public health and research. At least 50 per cent of learning is practice-based. You will work with midwives in hospitals and the community, caring for women and their families through pregnancy and birth and providing postnatal care.Our 2021 curriculum is currently being revised in line with the new NMC standards.Reasons to choose Kingston University

Entry requirements
A 2:2 or above honours degree in a related discipline (obtained within the past five years). GCSEs or equivalent at grade C /grade 4 or above in English language, science and mathematics. Practical work experience in a care setting. Selection includes an interview, occupational health clearance and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

About this university
International students
The university attracts students from around the world and there are plenty of help and advice on hand to make the transition easier for them. This begins with welcome and orientation events at the beginning of studies and includes events designed to help students come to terms with their new home as well as organising matters such as a bank account, access to health care and even immigration and visas matters. There is an airport pick up service available and the Yellow Team are ambassadors on hand to offer help and advice. There is also language courses for those to whom English isn’t a native language. Kingston University Students’ Union is at the heart of activities outside the classroom as well as providing representation and support for its members. Their main building is on Penrhyn Road beside the bar and shop it operates. There are some 30 sports clubs and another 70 societies on offer while the volunteering department is the largest supplier of volunteers in the borough. It also runs another two bars and a shop on the other campuses. The clubs and societies offer something for all tastes including those around the arts such as drama, fashion and even anime and science fiction groups. There are cultural groups such as the Arab Society and the Hellenic Association as well as religious ones. Then there are academic groups such as the economics club or the engineering society. Finally, sports run from traditional team sports such as cricket and football through to activities such as cheerleading and martial arts as well as interests such as mountaineering and go karting.
