This MSc International Business Management and Finance course is focused on your career. With this master's degree accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) you will be ready for a successful international career with a commercial or not-for-profit organisation.On this course you will learn to identify, analyse and evaluate a range of business related issues. You will develop suitable responses to these problems and be able to select the most appropriate course of action.This specialism will enable you to focus on the area of finance. You will take two specialised finance-based modules and develop an understanding of the core theoretical principles of finance. You will examine how businesses manage their finances within a company in line with their corporate strategy and understand how business decisions are made from a financial perspective, such as the investment in major projects, managing working capital and evaluating risk. You will explore how different financial markets operate and focus on how the financial sector has transformed as a result of globalisation. After graduation, you will be prepared for a range of jobs, including business analyst, investment banker and management consultant.

Entry requirements

This course attracts students from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. A minimum of a second class honours degree (2:2) in any academic discipline, or equivalent overseas degree from a recognised institution or equivalent professional or other qualification. Applicants who possess a diploma rather than a good degree may be eligible for entry provided they have compensatory work experience and can demonstrate career development. This course attracts students from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. Applications are welcome from those in work and seeking continuing professional development.

About this university

International students

Students travel from around the world to attend courses at the university and there are plenty of resources available to them. On the website is a range of course specific information and plenty to help before the student arrives in Oxford. Once they reach the campuses, then there is support available on matters such as money and banking, health and insurance and bringing family to Oxford. There is also information about immigration matters and visas and even simple packing tips for first-time students. These are provided by the International Student Advice Team who are available via email and phone as well as on-site. Brookes Union is the student union at the university and are in charge of organising over 60 clubs and societies as well as organising events and offering support for students. All students are automatically members and there is advice on hand for matters such as finances, housing, welfare and legal issues. It organises regular events such as Fresher’s Week, to help new students get to know the university.
