Our MSc International Management (Operations) provides clear links between theory and international business practice and places discussion of relevant management techniques and themes in the context of the international stage. It focuses on areas such as global decision-making within operations and finance, global economics and cultural issues within management in an international environment.You develop your understanding of strategic and change management alongside cross-cultural and international aspects of business. You reflect on the main functional areas of international business and integrate theoretical knowledge with practical enterprise skills in a global context, as well as allowing developing strategic thinking in business operations.Successful completion of this programme opens up opportunities in international business and business operations.

Applicants should normally have a good honours degree (2.2 or above) in a relevant/related discipline, or a post-experience or professional qualification, or equivalent qualifications (including international qualifications). Non-UK students must also meet the University's minimum English language requirements.

About this university
International students
There is a large and varied international student population at the university and plenty to help them adjust to their new surroundings. From the beginning of the application process, there is help on hand including country-specific information and assistance with immigration and visas. Once in Teesside, there is support and advice from various sources including the Students Union who operate a number of different groups that may be of interest. There is also support for different faiths within the university and culture groups. Plus there is help on hand with matters such as financial advice, getting a bank account and working between studies. The Student Union organises the out of class activities for the students at Teesside and there are around 40 clubs and 20 societies to pick from, under the heading of SU Activities. There are also charity work opportunities through the Raising and Giving and other volunteer programs. The union also runs SU Link, providing help and advice to members on subject both academic and non-academic as well as encouraging students to take an active role in running their union. The clubs and societies available do cover all possible options. These range from cultural groups such as Chinese or Indian to those based around a faith such as the Islamic society. There are interest and academic groups including historical, chemical engineering and occupation therapy as well as performing arts such as drama. Sports range from competitive team sports such as football and rugby to fitness and well-being groups. The teams also take part in the various BUCS leagues against other universities and colleges around the country while the fitness activities make use of the various facilities across the campus create specifically for the students.
