Trading and investing offers an exciting career path, but also demands a high level of theoretical knowledge and technical skill. The Master of Science (MSc) Investments degree will equip you with the skills and knowledge that you need to function as an investment specialist in domestic and international markets. This programme provides a solid grounding in the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and prepares students well for CFA exams.


Entry requirements

A good Honours bachelor (2.1 or higher) degree in relevant subject and/or applicants must have obtained good grades in mathematics or mathematics related modules at undergraduate level. English Proficiency Requirement: A minimum of C6 pass in English as First Language at GCE ‘O' Level; or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking, 21 in Writing or IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 6.0 in each band); or Pearson Test of English (Academic) with 59 in all four skills

The International Students Advisory Service (ISAS) is available for all international students attending the university to provide support and advice across a number of areas. These include matters such as visas and immigration, living and working in the UK and workshops for students outside the classroom. They are also available to help with matters such as students bringing families with them and organising social events around the country to make the most of their time in Birmingham. The University of Birmingham Guild of Students is the students union of the university, which has its origins in the guild of undergraduates dating back to the 1870s. It supports some 180 clubs and societies across a range of subjects and interests from sports and arts to volunteering as well as representing students in various ways. The university ranks in the top five in the BUCS league of British universities.
