    Description

Our research addresses three overarching themes, namely: climate, ocean and atmospheric interactions; the governance of resources and sustainability; and geosciences and natural hazards. Our research has major global influence. Results of the Times Higher Education Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) analysis ranked us first in the UK for research impact with 88% of our research ranked world-leading or internationally excellent. This is further exemplified by the QS World University Rankings 2019 in which we rank first in the world for paper citations in Marine and Earth Sciences, third for Geography and fourth for Environmental Sciences. Furthermore, no other university has made as substantial a contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as UEA. Our research is underpinned by excellent, well-funded facilities including the additions of a sea glider facility and an air-sea-ice chamber. Our facilities provide many opportunities for your research projects. About this university

    International students

Annually, there are some 3,500 students come to the university from outside the UK to study the various courses on offer. In addition to their full studies, there are a number of programs available through the Collaborative International Programmes Office. Through the website, there is also country specific information for students to help them understand everything from entry requirements to information about study fairs and scholarships. There is also practical advice for students about living and studying in the UK. There are over 200 societies and clubs available for students outside the classroom. These range from playing football to taking part in the student newspaper or TV station. Most of these are operated through the Student Union, which also operates a number of entertainment venues including a club and bar. The student union also provides services such as an advice centre. It also runs The Waterfront venue just off campus that has seen acts including U2, Coldplay, Iron maiden and Dizzee Rascal performing there. As well as sports and arts clubs there are also volunteering opportunities for students to get involved with the larger community. There is a notable annual event, the UEA Literary Festival, held each year since 1991. It has featured a number of notable speakers including Stephen Fry, PD James, Terry Pratchett and Peter Ustinov and includes film screenings and political discussions in addition to the talks.

Chart description

These charts show how many students from your university and others applied to the destination university/field of study. Students in the charts shown received offers that were either conditional on additional documentation or unconditional. Others had their applications rejected.

The results are only accurate for academic scores. We highly recommend receiving professional advice from one of our counsellors. Our free services ensure application documents are the best they can be. We estimate that doing so can boost your chance of admission by 5% to 20%.

Acceptance description

The "acceptance chance" is a weighted average of up to three partial scores regarding your academic score/GPA compared to:

  • The official requirements from the university
  • The minimum acceptable academic level according to our experienced counsellors
  • Previous applicants who received offers of admission

If your "chances" are 50%, then we estimate that one out of two people from your university with your academic result would be accepted.

Our algorithm gives a good estimation but focuses on academic scores only. Academic scores are not the only factor. Your language ability, work experience, and activities outside of the classroom will also play a role.

The search results presented are based on students who have received professional advice from one of our counsellors and used our services to ensure application documents are the best they can be. We estimate that using this free service can increase your chance of admission by 5% to 20%.
