It operates the University Refectory in the main campus, which, on a night, is transformed to a 2000 person venue for live events with big names such as The Who and Bob Marley having performed there. There are also two bars and a café operated by the union and three nightclubs. Student societies number around 250 and include a newspaper, TV station and radio station run by students along with a large number of sports, with these having a particularly highly reputation.
