Description
The course offers students with a background in theology and Biblical studies the opportunity to engage at a high level with the study of Christian doctrine in its historical context and systematic expression. The core module examines the early development of Christian theology from the New Testament down to the dawn of the conciliar period. A range of optional modules give students the chance to examine the historical development and present expression of a number of core doctrines, and to examine the theological contribution of some major figures in the tradition. The programme also permits some cross-over into areas of Biblical interpretation.
