    About this university

    International students

Some 17% of students at the university come from outside the UK and cover some 100 countries around the world. Information for them starts on the website with help with the application process as well as finding out about visas and immigration paperwork required. There are country specific information available as well as English language requirements. Students can make use of the language courses to help increase or better their grasp of English alongside their other studies. There are various introductory courses when students first arrive to help with getting settled in and finding their way around as well as basic daily tasks such as setting up a bank account or registered with a medical practise. Student life focuses around the Student Union which provides representation, support and advice to its members as well as organising the various social events and extracurricular activities. It currently runs two bars, one The Bonded Warehouse near Panns Bank hall of residence and the other, North Shore, on the St Peter's campus. Nearby is the new Student Hub including a bar, grill, nightclub and theatre. There is a student run magazine as well as a radio station. In sports, there are over 45 different sports and teams available to members. These all have access to the CitySpace sports facility on campus which includes sports halls, fitness suite, physiotherapy and injury centre and spectator areas. There are also various opportunities to give something back to the community with the volunteering opportunities through the university. There are also a range of societies covering interests, cultures, faiths and academic subjects. These range from the business society and education society to the Afro-Caribbean society, the Hong Kong and Malaysia society and the Islamic society. Then there are those based around a certain interest such as the Gothic society or the Formula Student Motorsport Team.

Chart description

These charts show how many students from your university and others applied to the destination university/field of study. Students in the charts shown received offers that were either conditional on additional documentation or unconditional. Others had their applications rejected.

The results are only accurate for academic scores. We highly recommend receiving professional advice from one of our counsellors. Our free services ensure application documents are the best they can be. We estimate that doing so can boost your chance of admission by 5% to 20%.

Acceptance description

The "acceptance chance" is a weighted average of up to three partial scores regarding your academic score/GPA compared to:

  • The official requirements from the university
  • The minimum acceptable academic level according to our experienced counsellors
  • Previous applicants who received offers of admission

If your "chances" are 50%, then we estimate that one out of two people from your university with your academic result would be accepted.

Our algorithm gives a good estimation but focuses on academic scores only. Academic scores are not the only factor. Your language ability, work experience, and activities outside of the classroom will also play a role.

The search results presented are based on students who have received professional advice from one of our counsellors and used our services to ensure application documents are the best they can be. We estimate that using this free service can increase your chance of admission by 5% to 20%.
