University of Winchester has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.

This is a pre-experience course designed to offer a broad management education to students from a wide range of subject disciplines. Built around Winchester Business School's commitment to the United Nations' Principles of Responsible Management Education, it explores themes of the international business environment to develop managers capable of responding positively to global challenges in the twenty-first century.The programme is designed primarily for students who have not previously studied business at undergraduate level, but are interested in developing a career in management. However, the knowledge and skills developed on the programme are also of value to applicants with some previous business experience looking for further career development.Students, individually and in groups, consider a range of management problems and issues from different perspectives, taught through a variety of methods specifically designed to stimulate and stretch students' intellect. They develop their capacity to apply the necessary skills to solve real-life problems in management.Study equips students with the knowledge and skills to work effectively within organisations and the rapidly-changing global context in which they operate.The programme emphasises the Principles of Responsible Management Education, aiming to develop in students an awareness of the need to generate sustainable value for their organisations and society at large. The modules encompass a range of key management subject areas including strategy, leadership and entrepreneurship. Students write a dissertation which enables them to develop expertise in an area of international business of their choice.

Normally a first or second-class Honours degree (or international equivalent). This programme is aimed at a wide range of students from different national and professional backgrounds

The university offers plenty of information for students travelling from outside the UK starting before they leave home. There is information by country for the application process as well as assistance with visas and immigration issues. There is a guarantee for accommodation for international students that means there is no concern about finding somewhere to live and plenty of information on other daily life issues such as banking, healthcare and bringing a family to the UK. There is even the opportunity to book a pick-up from the airport to ensure you arrive at the university without any problems. Winchester Student Union organises much of life outside the classroom for its students, all of whom are automatically members. This includes operating societies and sports clubs, a shop, bars as well as organising support for its members and providing representation. It is based within the University Centre and has a 850 seat venue with cinema, three bars and the shop. Regular events are held here including comedy nights. It also operates a number of student media opportunities including an online news outlet. In the societies and clubs area is something for all tastes. These run from various team sports as well as fitness activities and even martial arts clubs. There are dance and performance clubs to bring out a student's artistic side as well as music clubs and groups. There are international and culture groups to meet up with others from a similar background or learn about a new culture while the community volunteering groups allow students to give something back to the wider community. There are also opportunities to get involved with the running of the union, both organisational and with the representation of other students.
