International students
The international student body is on average over 2,000 strong at Hertfordshire. This means there is plenty of help and assistance for international students as well as a good chance of someone from your country already being at the university. The university offers a range of information on the website before students arrive as well as an airport collection service when arriving. There is also the International Student Support team available to help with diverse matters such as immigration and visas, financial guidance and help finding accommodation or work between classes. They run an orientation program from new students as well as English language support services. The Hertfordshire Students Union is the heart of social life at the university. It operates around fifty different clubs and societies ranging from climbing to curry to find something for all tastes. Among the student run media programs is Crush Radio, the first campus radio station in the UK. There are also various facilities operated by the union including their entertainment venue called Forum Hertfordshire, a state of the art venue with clubs, bars, shopping, places to eat and other equipment. They even operate special programs for International Students as well as cultural events and trips. Finally, they also organise annual events such as the Summer Ball to bring everyone together.
