Overview Research at Worcester has grown significantly in the last 10 years as the University itself has expanded. About this university
International students
For the students travelling from outside the UK, there are various resources on hand to help them adjust to their new surroundings. Before arrival, there are country specific information on the website to help with applications and visas and immigration issues. There is also a dedicated student support team for international students that includes everything from an immigration solicitor to a finance and welfare specialist. There are study skills on hand as well as language assistance for those wanting to learn or improve their English. The Students Union also operates an International Committee to look after the specialist interests of those from outside the country. The Student Union at the university is based in the St Johns campus and provides a range of services for members as well as representation and support. The union operates a bar, shop and eating places as well as providing academic and non-academic help and advice through the student advisors. There are a host of different societies and clubs to get involved with outside the classroom. These include from arts interests such as anime, screen production and film to interests including debate and the nature society. There are also cultural and religious groups such as the Student Christian Movement and the African Caribbean society. Sports teams and clubs take part in the BUCS league and range from traditional sports to fitness activities such as cricket, football and equestrian events.
