Harper Adams University has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
This MSc serves to reinforce the relevance of ecology to a broad range of applications and trains students to apply ecological tools and understanding in a wide variety of contexts. The course draws on and complements the established and highly regarded MSc programmes taught at Harper Adams. Along with core ecological training, students will be allowed to select modules from a number of the MSc courses running at Harper Adams, including Conservation and Forest Protection, Entomology, Integrated Pest Management, Rural Estate and Land Management and Sustainable Agriculture.Specifically the course will:
A UK honours degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent overseas qualification. Applicants with a good FdSc/HND pass in a relevant subject area plus at least two years' relevant industrial or professional experience may also be considered.
Students travel from some 30 different countries to study at the university and these students get priority in the campus accommodation. There are international student representatives and a dedicated induction program to help students adjust to their new home. There are study skills support on offer as well as free English language courses for those to whom it isnâ€™t a first language. The support team can also advise on matters such as immigration and visas as well as working in the UK. There is also a social and cultural program including the Planet Harper society to get involved with. The Studentsâ€™ Union is the heart of life outside the classroom as well as helping get the most from a studentâ€™s time at the university. It organises and runs various clubs and societies as well as organising events such as balls, club nights, gigs, quizzes and even comedy nights. There are over 30 different sports clubs and societies. These range from traditional sports such as cricket and football to activities such as archery and mountain biking as well as societies covering arts, religion and interests. In addition to these, the union also operates a range of support and advice services to help students deal with the problems life throws at them. Finally, there is even a postgraduate society for these students to get together with others of their age and stage of education.
