London South Bank University has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.

MSc Architecture is a specialised programme designed to develop digital design and practical manufacturing skills. It builds on the ethos of rigorous and directed design studio tuition of LSBU's established RIBA part 1 and 2 degrees. It also emphasises the value of detailed and analytical research and the expression of this through structured extended writing.You'll extend your understanding of advanced architectural design and progressive contextual urbanism through studio- and workshop-based projects. Tutorials in the design studio and analogue and digital workshops, as well as instruction in advanced design software, will help you define and enhance your personal response to architectural challenges.

Around 12% of the student population are from outside the UK, with around 130 countries being represented. There is information by country on the website for the application process as well as help and assistance. There is an International student advice team on hand to help with matters such as immigration and visas as well as an airport meeting service when students first arrive. The student welcome week include a number of sessions to meet other students and staff as well as finding out about the services on campus and across the wider area. The Student’s Union is at the heart of extracurricular activities at the university as well as offering support and guidance for its members and representing them. It also operates a bar on the campus as well as a number of catering outlets. There are around 45 different societies to get involved with outside the classroom with memberships running from 10 to 100. These cover a range of different areas from culture, academics, hobbies and activities or even faith based groups. Examples include the anime society, the Christian Union, the law society, the nursing society and even the South Bank Entrepreneurs group. There are also volunteering options with the RAG groups and other ways to give back to the wider community and finally, students can also start their own groups should they find a niche where they and their friends interest could be shared with others. Sports clubs at the university all take part in the BUCS leagues against other universities and colleges around the country. There are plenty to choose from whether students are looking for solo sports, team sports or fitness activities. These include traditional sports such as cricket and football as well as newer sports such as futsal, Frisbee and dodgeball. Then there are the fitness groups such as the dance squad and karate group.
