Students travel from around the world to attend courses at the university and there are plenty of resources available to them. On the website is a range of course specific information and plenty to help before the student arrives in Oxford. Once they reach the campuses, then there is support available on matters such as money and banking, health and insurance and bringing family to Oxford. There is also information about immigration matters and visas and even simple packing tips for first-time students. These are provided by the International Student Advice Team who are available via email and phone as well as on-site. Brookes Union is the student union at the university and are in charge of organising over 60 clubs and societies as well as organising events and offering support for students. All students are automatically members and there is advice on hand for matters such as finances, housing, welfare and legal issues. It organises regular events such as Fresher’s Week, to help new students get to know the university.
