Courses are approved for continuing professional development (CPD) by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), the leading body for those working in the field.
There are 17 structured online courses currently on offer, with more in the pipeline. Each has been specifically tailored to meet workplace needs and each is delivered online with full support from an experienced practitioner. Together they provide a flexible, practical way to learn, either for CPD or towards a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) or Master's degree (MSc).
Students take four online modules for the PGDip or MSc, and two for the PGCert awards (see the 'What you'll study' section for the list of modules).
Please note, PG Cert and Dip awards in Healthcare Management and Healthcare Quality Management have specific module requirements - please visit Greenwich BioMed Online for more details. Students undertaking the full MSc complete a workplace based project (60 Level 7 credits).
Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert)
Complete two 12 week online modules and gain a PGCert in Biomedical Science (Online) award, a PG Cert in Healthcare Quality Management or a PG Cert in Healthcare Management. Each course comprises two components:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip)
Complete four 12 week online modules and gain a PGDip in Biomedical Science (Online), Healthcare Quality Management or Healthcare Management.
Master's degree (MSc)
Complete four online modules and a research project to gain an MSc Biomedical Science (Online) award. The MSc can be completed over six years and is validated by the University of Greenwich and accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science.
Your project typically will be laboratory-based or audit-focused and relevant to your profession and of benefit to your workplace. It normally will include an in-depth review of current literature as well as a critical evaluation of your results and should be of a standard suitable for publication in a scientific journal or equivalent.
You will be supported all the way by a supervisory team which normally includes an expert on the topic from your workplace and an academic supervisor. Together they will guide you through the process of structuring and conducting your research, writing it up and finally submitting it for examination.
Applicants should have: A BSc degree or equivalent together with relevant working experience or appropriate qualifications and experience gained within the NHS or in an equivalent healthcare setting. Applicants are also expected to be registered practitioners and will normally have completed four structured online learning modules from the Biomed Online Learning Programme. Students educated in a language other than English should have an IELTS score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill) or equivalent.

There is a thriving international community at the university including students from over 100 countries around the world. The International Office is the first point of contact for these students and can help with a variety of matters around living in the UK. This includes assistance with accommodation, registering for medical services and immigration and visas advice. They help with the arrival in London while students get used to their new home and with daily life matters as well as academic ones. There are also language courses on offer for those wishing to learn or improve their English skills. At the heart of student life at the university is the Students Union and all students are automatically members. It offers a range of services to these members including academic and non-academic advice and support, representation and the organisation of various clubs and societies for extracurricular times. It also operates three different bars as well as a shop and an online shop for students. The university has a top record for its sports teams and there are a range of competitive and non-competitive activities on offer. Clubs take part in the BUCS leagues against other universities and colleges and range from cricket and football to netball and self-defence activities. Likewise the societies over all aspects of life including academic, activities and games, campaigning, cultural and performing arts as well as the chance to start their own should students find a niche.
