You can start this MSc Economics degree in September or January. It can be tailored to two specialist fields: International Economics or Business and Financial Economics. On successful completion of this programme, you will graduate with one of the following degrees:
Master of Economics
Master of Economics (Business and Financial Economics)
Master of Economics (International Economics).

The programme combines solid training in theory and method with stimulating exposure to economics and financial data sources.
Our academics focus on real-world economic issues and draw from a plurality of economic theories and take an interdisciplinary approach to ensure they prepare you to think critically, respond to policy changes and contribute to the global economy.
Our courses weave a three-way linkage between alternative theories of economics and finance, data analysis, and application of theory and method to policy and strategy issues in the world of economics, business and finance.
Our Master's degree has a number of distinctive features to enable you to combine theory and real world examples to develop evidence-based answers to economic and business problems.
The aims of this degree are:
Equip you with a sound knowledge of international economics, financial economics and business economics, improving your analytical and problem-solving skills
Enable you to tackle problems creatively by helping you to think outside conventional boundaries
Develop skills to seek deeper meaning of a theory or finding in a pluralistic fashion comparing theories and their policy implications
Equip you with methods to analyse economic issues relevant to the real world

You should have an undergraduate degree in economics, industrial organisation, financial management or public policy at 2.2 or above, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised university or higher education institute.

There is a thriving international community at the university including students from over 100 countries around the world. The International Office is the first point of contact for these students and can help with a variety of matters around living in the UK. This includes assistance with accommodation, registering for medical services and immigration and visas advice. They help with the arrival in London while students get used to their new home and with daily life matters as well as academic ones. There are also language courses on offer for those wishing to learn or improve their English skills. At the heart of student life at the university is the Students Union and all students are automatically members. It offers a range of services to these members including academic and non-academic advice and support, representation and the organisation of various clubs and societies for extracurricular times. It also operates three different bars as well as a shop and an online shop for students. The university has a top record for its sports teams and there are a range of competitive and non-competitive activities on offer. Clubs take part in the BUCS leagues against other universities and colleges and range from cricket and football to netball and self-defence activities. Likewise the societies over all aspects of life including academic, activities and games, campaigning, cultural and performing arts as well as the chance to start their own should students find a niche.
