In a field as innovative as aerospace engineering, the sky truly is the limit. This Masters degree covers advanced concepts and current knowledge in essential areas such as fluid dynamics and materials modelling. This is for you if you are interested in studying Aerospace Engineering at an advanced level.The course builds upon the General Engineering structure of the Department of Engineering. Hence, you will be exposed to a wide range of subjects across the Aerodynamics and Fluids, Materials and Control themes. There are few General Engineering departments in the UK which can offer such a broad perspective.The modules of the course are organised in four themes. Control, Fluids, and Mechanics of Materials are core aerospace technology themes, which match the research background of the staff of the Department of Engineering. The fourth theme is the application of systems engineering to aerospace projects and missions.The course can be taken full-time or part-time. The full-time version includes the option of an industrial placement, which is a great way to gain valuable experience.
Entry requirements Good second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. English Language Requirements IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard. Students travel from around the world to study at Leicester and there is plenty of information and guidance on hand for them. the Student Support and Development Service (SSDS) operate a website that provides a great deal of information for students before they arrive and once they are in the country including on immigration and visas information, financial advice for their time at the university as well as help with living in the UK and integrating with the local community. The International Student Association provides information about the various events that are on offer for international students including annual and regular events, activities and even trips around the UK. These are aimed at helping students make the most of their time. There is also an English language teaching unit who offer courses for those to whom English isn't their first language. There are some 200 student organisations for those attending Leicester to get involved with outside the classroom. These include the student run newspaper and radio station. All are organised through the Student Union, which is also responsible for the organising of a number of annual events including a 24 hour charity broadcast at the radio station and its own awards, recognising the work in the student media. Other areas to get involved with include sports, charity and volunteering work and also in representation of fellow students in various matters as well as providing advice to others on certain subjects.
