University of Gloucestershire 綜合評比:

課程介紹

From the exploration of consumer behaviours to the of things as a development in modern culture, our Creative Research Lab offers you the space to immerse yourself in the research and development work that will take your career in new directions.

Explore your own real-life projects or become involved in research community projects through industry standard briefs. We research on an international platform that connects with our network of commercial, government and third sector partners. Our commitment to PaR (Practice as Research) and Design Thinking as transformative approaches to design are central to the way in which our staff and students co-create new knowledge.

The DDes is a Professional Doctorate, equivalent and equal to a traditional PhD, which puts an emphasis on active learning and applied design based on underpinning research and skills. This offers researchers the opportunity to explore, study, test, and evaluate design thinking methods and apply them to a range of professional environments. Professional pathways can lead to further academic research; entrepreneurship or employment in the private, public or third sector as a designer, design strategist, art director or employment in further or higher education.

Researchers have the opportunity to study in a multidisciplinary context and experience peer feedback with colleagues from a range of areas via seminars, symposia and conferences. Our staff work in transdisciplinary supervisory teams with external experts to ensure that your research is supported at the highest level.

You will be encouraged to take your work outside the immediate context of the university. During your studies you are expected to dedicate time and effort to developing your network of contacts and aim to present your work in public and academic spaces.

學校資訊

國際學生

Students travel from around the world to study at the university and there is plenty of help and advice on offer to ease their transition. Before arrival, there is country specific information on a range of topics and once in England there is help for matters such as immigration and visas, working between classes and evening bringing family members to the country. There is help with English language skills for those who don’t already speak the language and even advice about matters such as faith and religion in the UK to help international students feel at home and comfortable. At the heart of life outside the classroom is the Students Union. The union operates a number of venues as well as organising annual events such as the Summer Ball and providing support and guidance for students. It also operates some 30 different sports teams that range from rugby and hockey to equestrian disciplines and even trampolining. In particular, there are seven focus sports in both classroom and social levels – rugby league and union, hockey, football, tennis, volleyball and netball. There is an annual competition with the University of Worcester covering a range of different sports. In addition, there are a range of subject and interest based societies and also volunteer and charity work opportunities as well as student run media outlets such as the radio station and a newspaper called SPACE.
